April: Part 4 and Nisan 13
Now, because he knew before the festival of the passover that his hour had come for him to move out of this world to the Father, Jesus, having loved his own that were in the world, loved them to the end. 2 So, while the evening meal was going on, the Devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Is·car′i·ot, the son of Simon, to betray him, 3 he, knowing that the Father had given all things into [his] hands and that he came forth from God and was going to God, 4 got up from the evening meal and laid aside his outer garments. And, taking a towel, he girded himself. 5 After that he put water into a basin and started to wash the feet of the disciples.
Jesus, about to offer his perfect human life as a Ransom, washes the feet of his disciples.
Including those of Judas Iscariot.
Then he dismisses Judas and institutes the Lord’s Evening Meal
which includes the New Covenant
with his faithful 11 apostles.
In the Jewish calendar,
days start and end at sunset.
So as the sun goes down today
we gather in obedience to Jesus’ command,
“Keep doing this in remembrance of me.”
Have you noticed that each of the ribbons is wrapped around a different button?
All these gorgeous buttons are from Deb, the Scrappin Cop.
I’ve included the unwrapped buttons as well 🙂
