SCD: Paris

May 27, 2010

Continuing their celebration of one year of challenges…

Something Completely Different are also in French Mode.

Theme: Paris

“Paris, la clef de mon coeur.”

Paris, the key to my heart.

The main image I used is a “Costumes Parisiens” fashion plate from the historical “Journal des Dames et des Modes” published in Paris from 1797 onwards. I colour-adjusted the motif at the side to coordinate with the pink glow of the Paris skyline.

I think these fashion plates are exquisite. The detailing and the settings are elegant and artistic, so very redolent of French chic. Do you remember I posted back in December about these?  The image above is from the collage sheet, Costumes Parisiens: “Le Jeune Filles”, which will be available for sale in a few days. More about that anon…

Further credits:

The Eiffel Tower as seen through the window, the “Paris” script and the keyholes are courtesy of The Graphics Fairy.

Thanks, Karen!
