Three Muses: Windows, and Journalling Mat Freebie

September 25, 2009

Couple of new items in my sidebar – an RSS feed button and a Visitor Map to see where you are all from. And there are two red dots in the USA already since I added this late last night. The little red dot over beautiful, green Ireland is me, I’m guessing! From today, the map will start to populate. Pity it doesn’t map all your visits up to now, but as you visit, you will be added. Aren’t widgets wonderful?

The theme this week at Three Muses is Windows.

I love these challenges because they make you keep working on new techniques and new colour schemes. (Not yellow this time!) The vivid painting seen through the window above is by Leonid Afremov, and I used an overlay by Julia van der Werf. The window is a line drawing by Americo Kobashi and the glitter swirl is by iceblulady.

And then, just for fun…and because somebody had to 🙂

I Don't Do Windows

Moving quickly on…

A final “yellow” Freebie for you.

Approx 6x6in.

Your first window piece is an absolute stunner, the colours, all the layers and the blending are magnificent and it blows me away. Your second window is such a hoot, and until you made it I never thought about the window cleaner!!! Your sense of humour is a tonic.

I love both window pictures, especially the first which is eye-catchingly beautiful with its spectacular colours and wonderful composition. The background is exquisite – so much to see there. Amazing brushwork. I love the humour in the second picture – and the delicate little window which isn’t going to be cleaned!

I love the contrast of the subtle background and the bold spashes of color in the first window entry. It’s simply gorgeous. The second, of course, left me chuckling. How special—two for the price of one! Delicate and useful freebie is icing on the cake. Thank you so much.
