Duplicate Photos and Freebie Frame

March 4, 2009

newbie-notes-mcpWhen you are working with your photos in post-production work or using them in a scrapbooking layout, it is usually crucial to retain the original in its unaltered state. This is of paramount importance if you are using someone else’s precious photos in Scrap4Hire work.

The most reliable way to avoid disaster is to work on a duplicate – and this is how you do it in PhotoShop…

A:  Open your photo. Click Image > Duplicate

B:  A dialog box will open. Either rename the photo or accept the default by just clicking OK.

C:  If you click OK, the duplicate will have “copy” in the title.

D:  Now simply bring your original to the front and close, leaving you to weave your PhotoShop magic.

This is part of a  layout I was working on with the above photo. Now I’ve decided to change the frame because the hummingbird on the lower left is intruding on the bride, but in a different photo it would work well. So here it is as your freebie for today  🙂  (Thanks to Shira)
