On April 9, a very special event takes place and I would like to invite all of you to attend, no matter where you live! As the sun goes down all around the world, Jehovah’s Witnesses gather to commemorate the anniversary of Jesus’ death, as he instructed his followers to do. This is called the Memorial, because we are “remembering” the most important occasion in history. “Keep doing this in remembrance of me,” Jesus said, as recorded at Luke 22:19.
Over the next few days I will add snippets as to why this is the most important event in history, and to share the answers to the questions on the front of the Memorial Invitation pictured above… “What are Jesus’ disciples to commemorate? And why is it important for you to do so?” Feel free to ask any questions, or if you would prefer to visit the official website the address is watchtower.org
Towards the end of the opening page on the official website you will find a lovely section about Reliving Jesus’ Last Days on Earth. This has lots of detail about the Last Supper, and directs you to where you can find the scriptures in your own Bible to read along.

Thank you so much for putting the invitation to the Memorial on your blog. What a wonderful idea! It is such an important and serious occasion. But it is also a happy and reflective occasion too. We are remembering the ransom sacrifice that Jesus made in our behalf. Without it, we would have nothing.
In fact, I am leaving in a little while to go out in the ministry and hand out the invites.
